Featured Project: Texas Mural by GONZO247, 1990

It was the Summer of 1990. At age 17 and freshly graduated from high school, GONZO247 was geared up to embark on his journey of "becoming an artist". With a design in hand and owner permission granted this ended up being the first legal mural he painted in Houston. It also ended up being his first PAID mural. The design of the mural was a nod to the G-8 and economic summit that was being held in Houston that year. TEXAS is the center point of the design, with an early version of a GONZO247 stylized Houston skyline in the background with flags of the participating countries waving across the bottom. It was a mural moment never to be lost or forgotten for a young GONZO247.
